Our Trustee Board

Catherine has worked in business for 25 years, over 20 of which were with BP, and is currently the Deputy Chairman at Lakeland. She is also a faculty advisor and student mentor at Hull University where she studied Chemistry. This was followed by an MBA from the Ecole Européene des Affairs (ESCP) in Paris, Oxford and Berlin, and then an international career focused primarily on retail. She is passionate about people, whether customers, colleagues, family or friends and aims to made a positive difference with every interaction she has every day. She lives in Bedfordshire and has 2 teenage children.

Catherine was appointed to the Board of Trustees in November 2019.

John started his career as a plastics engineer, before moving into education as a teacher at Leeds Inner City Comprehensive School.  John is now Director of Sixth Form at a local independent school, as well as working extensively with the OCR/CIE (International) Examination Boards as a Principal and as a Schools Inspector with the ISI (Independent Schools Inspectorate).

John was appointed to the Board of Trustees in January 2020.

Dean is the co-owner and Group Financial Director of a national construction group.  He has 25 years of financial accounts experience as well as Honorary Treasurer for a number of voluntary organisations.  He is an active business mentor for upcoming businesses.

Dean was appointed to the Board of Trustees in August 2020.

 

Ginny has taught across the primary school sector, specialising in the younger age groups of Reception and Early Years. She was a Leading Maths Teacher in Cambridgeshire before taking on headship of a small rural lower school. Before retiring she became Head Teacher of an Outstanding Church School which had a focus on pupil well-being and Values Education. As a Local Leader of Education Ginny helped to support local schools and school leaders. Ginny lives in the Bedfordshire area and has 2 grown up children.

Ginny’s involvement with Making Me reflects her on-going belief in the importance of developing self-awareness and emotional resilience in young people. She was appointed to the Board of Trustees in November 2019.

Joanna began her professional career working as a Chartered Surveyor in the Bedfordshire area. For the past 20 years she has been Director of ‘Bostock’, a successful, Bedford based company offering First Aid training and medical supplies. Joanna has two teenage children and lives in the Bedford area. Joanna was appointed to the Board of Trustees in January 2018.

Paul is a recently retired Management Consultant specialising in business strategy, supply and operations. Paul has extensive sector experience ranging from high end furniture and lighting to health.  Paul has a PhD in forecasting and economics from the University of Nottingham and lives in North Bedfordshire close to his grown-up family.

 

John has lived in Bedfordshire for over forty years. He is a strategic advisor and commentator on leadership, governance, public policy, and public service reform. He advises, writes, and speaks on these and other issues nationally and internationally; he also advises and works with trade unions, businesses, charities, and local authorities.

John has held senior executive roles at a FTSE 100 company and a national charity and was a Bedfordshire County councillor for eighteen years including a period as joint council leader. He has board experience with central government programmes, the police, and NHS as well as in the business, charity, and arts sectors. He has been a chair of governors at several schools.

Sarah is an experienced social entrepreneur within the real estate and built environment sector. For the past six years, Sarah has been committed to fostering a more inclusive and diverse built environment sector, focusing on diverse early talent. She started her career in commercial property, working for a West End retail consultancy before moving to client-side to work for an F&B retailer as an Estates Surveyor.

Through her work at The Land Collective CIC, she was recognised and won an award by the British Property Federation for promoting the industry in a positive way and was also titled a RESI Trailblazer by Property Week.

Tanvi is an experienced social housing professional with expertise in supported living, governance, strategy and business development. Tanvi studied for a Masters in Human Rights from UCL and has been committed to working within the charitable sector since. During her academic and professional career Tanvi became passionate about people’s stories, in particular how support and circumstances in childhood can affect a person’s life trajectory
